Mr. Thomas has been engineering electrical systems since joining KTA, Inc. in 1990. Mr. Thomas’ work has included the design of: Interior Lighting, Site Lighting, Dimming, Power Distribution, Fire Alarm, Intercom/Paging, Sound and Data/Voice Systems. Mr. Thomas has served as project manager for projects involving a wide variety of facilities including surveys, renovations, new construction for universities and community colleges, secondary education, hospitals, commercial businesses, theaters, museums and agricultural endeavors. Mr. Thomas has received praise for his aesthetically pleasing, high performance lighting designs and his theatrical dimming systems designs.
Mr. Thomas was a pioneer in the design of computer data and voice cabling systems in secondary educational facilities and his early designs were originally upheld as a standard design by the Commonwealth’s Department of Education. Subsequently, Mr. Thomas was sought out by a major school system to develop a country wide design standard for the system’s data/voice networks and to design and oversee the installation of data/voice networks in 31 facilities throughout the system In addition to his design responsibilities, Mr. Thomas is responsible for the continual maintenance and improvement of the computers, computer networks, (infrastructure, hardware, and software), and the CADD Interface.
Since January 1996 Mr. Thomas has been a Principal of KTA, Inc. and serves on the Board of Directors as Secretary.
